Diaval x reader~ Sin to Kill a Songbird Part 2

Diaval continued to walk and then he found Maleficent leaning against a tree with a look of melancholy on her face. Maleficent straightened when she saw Diaval. "You love her, don't you Diaval?" Maleficent asked him as she approached him. "What do you mean?" Diaval asked. "(y/n), you love her. Ever since I sent you to look after Aurora you had always had an affection on the precious (y/n). When you saw her out there... I know that look Diaval. I had that same look on my face, once," Maleficent stated. Diaval shuffled a little and then replied, "Yes, I am in love with her. I don't know what to do!" "Her birthday is in a couple of weeks," Maleficent stated as it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Diaval just gave her a curious look. "Wow, for a crow you can be stupid," Maleficent said. "Hey! Don't get my beautiful self mixed with those menace! I am a raven!" Diaval exclaimed taking offence to Maleficent's statement. "Do something special for her and plus spring is right around the time of her birthday, too. Spring was always beautiful around this time of year," Maleficent replied calmly. Diaval looked at Maleficent because it was rare to see her this at ease.

Days had crossed by, but inside Diaval's head they were merely minutes. Each day came closer to (y/n)'s 16th birthday, and every day Diaval came to the little cottage, but made sure the fairies and Aurora didn't see, to see (y/n). The connection between you two grew and grew without the two of you realizing it. What you didn't realize was that Maleficent was keeping a careful eye on both of you. She didn't want you two to go through what she felt. What she experienced with Aurora and (y/n) slowly made her realize that not all humans are evil

~Timeskip to your birthday~

You woke up and suddenly realized that it was your birthday! You got excited because maybe you will get to see Diaval and your aunts could actually remember it is your birthday. You got dressed and went inside the main part of the house to find your aunts making a fuss all over the place. "Um, aunts? What are you doing?" You asked. "Oh! She's up!" They all exclaimed and they all scattered to show you that they were making you a case with messed up letters that read: Happy Birthday (Y/N)! "Thank you! It looks amazing!" You said. "It will taste amazing, also!" exclaimed Aunt Flora. You looked around the house and saw that Aurora was nowhere to be seen. "Where's Aurora?" You asked. The fairies all looked at each other. "I'm right here, birthday girl!" Aurora said behind you. You turned around and saw Aurora behind. Aurora ran up to you and hugged you. "Look at you, my big sister is 16!" Aurora exclaimed.

"Now, that you are 16 you probably are expecting some big present," Aunt Merryweather said. Aunt Flora and Aunt Fauna both nudged each other with pride smiles on their faces. You just looked at them with a curious expression. Aunt Flora and Aunt Fauna both went and retrieved a package. All of the Aunts were urging you to open it up. You had a big smile on your face as you sat down and ripped the package open. It revealed a beautiful (favorite color) dress. "Where did you get this?" You asked in awe as you stood up and placed it against yourself. "We made it, of course!" Aunt Flora exclaimed. "Well, it is absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much!" You exclaimed. You walked up to them and gave them a big hug. You looked at Aurora and said, "Get in this hug!" Aurora laughed and got into the giant hug.  "Come on, put it on! I want to see if it will fit you!" Aunt Fauna exclaimed. You laughed and said, "Alright!"

A couple of minutes later of you trying to figure out how to even put it on. You emerged from your bedroom in the birthday gown. They all gasped when they saw you. "You look beautiful!" cried Aunt Merryweather. "I agree with Aunt Merryweather, (y/n). You do look beautiful in that dress," Aurora said. You blushed at the compliments you were receiving. Minutes turned to hours as you all chatted amongst yourself and ate cake. It was the best birthday so far, at least in your mind. You told the aunts that you were going to go outside for the rest of the day. They agreed since you were 16 now. 

You took a piece of cake with you and you decided to sit down on a boulder that was at the edge of the border of the forest and the fields. "Hello, (y/n)," you hear a voice greet you. You sat up and turned around and saw Diaval standing in front of you. "Why, hello Diaval. It's great to see you again," you stated. "You look beautiful," Diaval said. You blushed and looked down at the ground to hide your blush. "Oh, would you like some cake?" You asked. "Um, sure. Thank you," Diaval taking the cake from you and started to eat. Silence had washed over both of you. Diaval placed the plate down and stood up. He put his hand out and grabbed on it as he pulls you up. "Happy Birthday, (y/n)," Diaval said with a smile on his face. He reached into his pockets and he pulled out a box and gave it to you. You looked at him suspiciously and took it. You opened the box to see a beautiful silver pendant on a leather chain. "Oh, Diaval it is beautiful. You didn't have to get me anything," you replied. "Don't worry (y/n)," Diaval said as he took the necklace to put on you.

"Thank you Diaval," you mumbled. Silence had once again took it's place surrounding you two. Diaval was the first to cut the silence. "(y/n)?" Diaval asked. "Yes, Diaval?" You responded. "Remember when we met?" Diaval asked you. You smiled at the memory. "Yeah, it was the day I outsmarted those stupid men. I couldn't believe that they didn't know it was a sin to kill a songbird," You answered. "Ever since that day, I have begun to grow...feelings for you. At first I didn't understand what it meant, but it started to grow more and more. Now, my feelings are so big it is impossible to not know what it means. I love you, (y/n)," Diaval just blurted out the end. You just stood there in shock, but managed to say, "I love you, too Diaval," you said. Diaval's smile grew so big, that you thought it could've split his head. "Yes! Yes! You love me too!" Diaval exclaimed picking you up and spinning you around. You started laughing at his reaction. "Diaval can you put me down?" You asked. "Oh, yeah. Sorry," Diaval muttered. You just looked up at him and smiled at him. "Don't worry about it," you said. 

As you stared into each other's eyes you felt being pulled closer together until your lips had met his. It was a very sweet and innocent kiss. You wrapped your arms around his waist as you both pulled away from the kiss. "I love you, (y/n)," Diaval said as he rested his head on yours. You tightened your arms around him as you said, "I love you, too Diaval."

As you two embraced each other what you didn't know was that there was a certain songbird watching you. It nodded at both of you as it took off from it's branch and took off to the stars.
